The role of Farmers and Vendors highlight at Portsmouth Annual Market Day with a Difference
Several farmers and vendors from the town of Portsmouth and its environs were recognized when the Northern District Cultural Committee held its annual Market Day with a difference on Saturday October 23rd, 2010 under the theme “Creating opportunities empowering communities.”
Mayor of Portsmouth Bernard Daniel commended the farmers and vendors who have and continue to provide fruits, vegetables and staples to the residents of the Northern District.
In the interim Parliamentary Representative for the Portsmouth Constituency Honourable Ian Douglas highlighted the importance of the farmers and vendors in today’s society.
Market Day with a difference is being held every year in Portsmouth, Marigot and Roseau as part of activities marking Dominica’s Independence Celebrations.
