A number of party officials were present at the celebration, where several political, economic and social issues on the development of Dominica, were discussed.

Candidate for the Mahaut Constituency, Ronnie Isidore, told supporters, that they have the power to constitute the changes that they want to see happen in the country.

UWP trustee and Member of Parliament for the Roseau Central constituency, Mr. Norris Prevost, advised the crowd to “stand up for democracy, stand up for a better Dominica and vote Skerrit out”.

The newly elected leader of the United Workers Party, Lennox Linton noted the party has not taken any final decision on a nominee for president of Dominica.

The Government’s nominee is former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Mrs. Jennifer Wallace- Lafond.

Former political leader, Edison James says his party will guarantee that it always stands on the side of the Constitution in an effort to protect the rights of the people of Dominica.
