The third travelling Caribbean Film Showcase whose aim was to showcase films produced in the Caribbean and provide a greater and more effective visibility of the work of filmmakers and audiovisual professionals in the Caribbean, was indeed a great success.

The film showcase which took place in Dominica last week was one worthy of an applause, although the turn out was not as great as was expected.

This aspect of the showcase was the only disappointment, to some extent.

All the films were enjoyed by the audience; however the classic from Cuba got the best feedback.

Mrs. Anita Bully, Film Commissioner, Dominica Film Office expressed her gratitude to Alliance Francaise for allowing them to use the building for the activity.

Films are now being accepted from Dominicans to be examined for the selection of films for next year’s showcase.

The panel will watch the films which are submitted and then make a selection of those which they want.

Films are being selected based on merit or sometimes a theme is selected for the year.
