Thomson Fontaine Files Lawsuit against PM Skerrit and Others
Dr. Thomson Fontaine has struck back, filing a lawsuit against Prime Minister, Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, Attorney-at-Law Lennox Lawrence and Senior Counsel Anthony Astaphan, as well as Kairi FM Radio and its owner Mr. Frankie ‘Krazy T’ Bellot and Mr. Simeon Albert.
This action was taken, after Dr. Fontaine had been the subject of intense criticism by some members of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) and its supporters, after it was revealed that he had transferred US$27,000 from the Dominica Academy of Arts and Sciences (DAAS) account to his personal account.
An allegation, which had been clarified by then president of DAAS, Dr. Clayton Shillingford.
The DLP members also allege that Dr. Fontaine is involved in the transfer of lands belonging to DAAS.
This, Dr. Fontaine said was done for cheap political reasons and was blown totally out of proportion.
Dr. Fontaine noted the action is to ask the courts to intervene, for monetary damages, as well as an order from the Court that these allegations cease.
He added it is a shame the Government would stoop so low when they should welcome a man of his expertise.
He is being represented by Attorneys Joshua Francis and Gildon Richards.
