Titiwi lovers will satisfy their taste buds this weekend as the annual Titiwi Festival will be on Sunday September 30th, after an absence last year as a result of the Matieu Dam overflowing its banks.

Parliamentary Representative for the St. Joseph Constituency, Honourable Kelvar Darroux says, this will be a great opportunity for fish vendors, and small businesses to benefit from which in turn will aid in the growth of the economy of Layou.

Mr. Darroux added that moving forward we will see the community of Layou progressing, especially as it relates to the education and the overall development.

It is very important that persons island-wide attend the Titiwi Festival which has been going on for the past 4 to 5 years, so they can help the economy of Layou grow while they indulge in their favourite titiwi dish.

This festival allows people to set up a small business, which while providing them with an income they will also help the economy of their community.
