On this day in 1968, Cuba M. Gooding, Jr. is born. He is an American actor who is an Academy Award-winner for his portrayal of Rod Tidwell in Cameron Crowe’s 1996 film Jerry Maguire. He is also known for his energetic portrayal of different characters in comedy films.
His first job as an entertainer was as a break-dancer performing with singer Lionel Richie at the closing ceremonies of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
In 2002, he was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
