Twenty-three year old, Lee Anthony, has been charged with attempted murder of Vaughn Dodds

One young man, Lee Anthony, 23, from the village of Coulibistrie, has been denied bail after he allegedly committed two offenses, attempted murder and shooting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on Monday, December 20th 2010, at the Roseau Magistrate’s Court.

These charges follow an alleged drive-by shooting incident at Wesley, early Tuesday evening, December 14th, which left a Wesley resident, Vaughn Dodds, nursing six gun shoot wounds at the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH).

Anthony who was on bail for allegedly committing a previous offense, money laundering, has been denied bail for numerous reasons seeing that the victim, Vaughn Dodds is currently fighting for his life at the Princess Margaret Hospital.

The prosecutors also believe that the issue of an ongoing feud between the victim and the accused may interfere with the investigations and also fear that the accused may be at risk if left out on the streets.

In addition, the fire arm which was used to allegedly commit the crime has still not been recovered causing the prosecutors to stand their ground.

The preliminary inquiry is slated for April 15th 2011 at Wesley and Lee Anthony has been remanded at the Dominica State Prison until that date.
