UWP to Tour US and Canada

UWPThree members of the Opposition United Workers Party, are expected to leave Island this week to meet with citizens in the United States and Canada, where they will discuss the Party’s plans for Dominica.

The team will comprise, leader of the UWP Mr. Lennox Linton, Attorney at Law Joshua Francis and former IMF economist Dr. Thomson Fontaine, who are expected to tour six US cities and Toronto from January 11 to 21.

According to Mr. Francis, “the purpose of this trip is to speak to our brothers and sisters in the diaspora mainly and specifically the United States of America. We will be in Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York, followed by Atlanta, then Miami and finally Houston.”

He said they will be sharing their vision, goals and aspirations for a better and more advanced Dominica and will speak about the current situation as it relates to the incumbent Dominica Labour Party led government, and their intentions to encourage Dominicans who are in the diaspora to come and vote under illegal circumstances.

“Our Party is not discouraging Dominicans to come and vote but there are legal procedures that must be followed and this is all we ask for,” said Mr. Francis.
