Victory Within Reach for Dominica’s Boiling Lake
Dominica’s Boiling Lake, situated in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, Dominica’s World Heritage site, is a flooded fumarole 6.5 miles East of Roseau, Dominica.
Of 350 nominees, the Boiling Lake is listed in the top 25 for the 8th Wonder of the World.
There are four other Caribbean countries who have already submitted nominations in this category to ‘virtual tourist.com’.
Voting commenced on June 3rd 2013 and will end on September 30th 2013. Persons are allowed one vote every 24 hours.
The contender with the most votes will be announced in October 2013 and will be featured in a National Broadcast TV segment, on a popular syndicated program.
They will also receive a massive media relations campaign push from ‘virtual tourist.com’.
Head of Marketing at Discover Dominica Authority, Nikima Royer-Jno Baptiste, says “This is an excellent way to promote Dominica as the nature island, through online and social media”.
It provides an avenue to brand Dominica, and allows persons who would not otherwise know the geographical location of the country, to discover its beauty.
