Waitikubuli National Trail as an Eco-Tourism Site: His Excellency Eluid Williams

The Waitukubuli National Trail was declared an Eco-Tourist Site for Dominica on Friday May 10th.

This initiative was carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Wildlife and Parks Division, Waitukubuli National Trail Management Unit and the National Authorizing Office.

Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, His Excellency Ambassador Mikael Barfod, said he is committed to this initiative and promises to do his part before he leaves.

Mr. Matthew Walter, Minister for Agriculture and Forestry, added that there are several Eco-Tourism Sites, that showcase Dominica’s bio diversity, natural history, livelihoods and cultural heritage.

According to Honorable Senator Charles Savarin, Minister for National Security, Labour and Immigration, the idea was accepted by Government and a decision was made to utilize resources.
