WAWU to stage its first-ever Christmas Parade
The organizing Committee of the first-ever Wawu Christmas Parade is promising patrons a spectacle with a difference.
The parade which will be held on December 12th, 2010 will be held under the theme “welcoming the Christmas Cheer.”
One of the coordinators Mrs. Bernice Joseph said that the Parade is expected to be a family event which will feature and promote various business companies operating in Dominica.
According to her, this will provide a great opportunity for local community groups and individuals to showcase their talent and celebrate the festive season together.
“The parade is expected to travel along an established route from the Pottersville Savannah unto the Goodwill road, unto the EC Loblack Bridge, south unto Independence Street, west unto Cock Street and unto the Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard towards the Newtown Savannah.”
She says WAWU is thrilled to inform the public that following the Parade a wide range of activities will be taking place at the Newtown Savannah.
“Activities will include a Santa corner where children will be allowed to take pictures, distribution of gifts by Santa and bouncing castles, in addition to a wide range of games and other activities…Adults will not be left out, since they will receive the opportunity to purchase items from the various business companies gathered there,” explained Mrs. Joseph.
The first-ever WAWU Christmas Parade which will feature various floats, marching bands, individuals and groups is a free event for all to enjoy.
