Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles

Weather Update for August 3, 2012

Issued by the Dominica Meteorological Service:

Cloudiness, showers, isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds associated with the passage of Tropical Storm Ernesto will continue to affect the area during the next 24 hours.

Sea conditions are expected to be rough in association with the passage of tropical storm with swells peaking near 12.0 feet.

At 11am, the tropical storm WARNING for Dominica has been discontinued.

Tropical Storm Ernesto now located about 140 miles south west of Dominica. ‘Ernesto’ is moving westward near 21 mph.

On the forecast track, the center of Ernesto continues to move away from the Windward Islands and further into the Caribbean Sea.

Residents in Dominica are advised to continue to take all precautionary measures to avoid the likely impacts from the passage of this system.
