Winners of Grandparents Essay Competition
Three young ladies now have new laptops as they were the winners of an essay competition.
The essay competition was organized by the Parish Priest of St. Paul and St. Ann, Father Franklyn Cuffy, as part of the annual Parish Feast of St. Joachim and St. Ann, who were the grandparents of Jesus Christ.
Each young lady received a brand new HP laptop courtesy of the Prime Minister Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit.
Father Cuffy says, one of the most important aspects of the Reunion is a nine day Novena, which begins on July 17th to 25th, and is urging all persons from Mahaut and environs to attend.
The Parish Priests pointed out that this weekend; there will be major cleanup campaign in the community of Mahaut, where they will be collecting truck loads of white goods such as; old refrigerators, stoves, and washing machines amongst others.
He noted that he is impressed with all those who are making the effort in planning the activities to host the Mahaut Reunion.
Father Cuffy added that plans are in progress to adopt the river between the Pioneer and the Massacre School.
He added that during a recent graduation in the community, the Parliamentary Representative for the Mahaut Constituency, Honourable Rayburn Blackmoore announced that he will repair the wall around the Community Centre, and also the road around the Massacre School and Community Centre.
