Over 4,900 cricket fans from schools across the length and breadth of Dominica turned out to capture the action in the first two days of the Windward Islands Vs England Lions cricket match.

The match which took place from , scheduled from March 17-20, 2011, is part of Round 6 of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Regional 4-Day Tournament.

In a magnificent gesture by the Dominica Cricket Association (DCA), all schools were invited to the games free of charge and the students and teachers did not disappoint.

From Grand Bay to Grand Fond, Wotten Waven to Wesley, and everywhere in between, students came to the Windsor Park to enjoy cricket, lovely cricket as only Dominica fans can.

In continuing the tradition of providing the best cultural experience among cricketing venues, students at the Goodwill Secondary School were accompanied by an eight-member Lapo-Cabwit band.

The DCA also added an incentive to the schools to attend the match by offering a cricket kit, compliments DIGICEL, to the school with the must students at the Stadium on Thursday and Friday and Goodwill Secondary School came out to win.  They captured the prize with 672 students over the two-day period.

Abraham Brown, DCA Secretary, said, “It was amazing to see the turn out by the schools.  The atmosphere created was one that was in keeping with the experience that Windsor Park is known for.  I can truly say that cricket is alive and well in Dominica, not just because of the studnets’ attendance but their enthusiasm and the atmosphere that they created”.
