Youth Nation Cup Series Launched

The Nature Island Football Foundation (NIFF), which includes of a number of football enthusiasts, is proud to announce their 1st Under 13 and Under 16 tournament Annual Youth Nation Cup.

This tournament, headed by Mr. Joffre Faustin, president of the Foundation, is scheduled to kick off on July 21st 2013.

Public Relations Officer of the Nature Island Football Foundation, Mr. Dunstan ‘Maggi’ Peters, says this tournament is geared at engaging the young footballers in a positive way, as many are idle during the summer holiday.

Seeing how the standard of football has deteriorated, Mr. Peters said the persons who are part of this foundation, came together in an attempt to bring back football to the high level it once was.

Most of the games will be played at the Newtown Savannah, however games will also be played in communities including; Mahaut, Pottersville, and Lindo Park in Goodwill.

Mr. Kenrick Sulka Emmanuel, Vice President of NIFF ad a famous footballer from the community of Newtown, stated that following the tournament a list of the top 20, 30 or 40 players will be selected.

Secretary/Treasurer of Nature Island Football Foundation, Mr. Andrew Armour, believes this tournament will be very exciting for all footballers.

The tournament, he said, will equip the young footballers with important skills for the sport.

The Youth Nation Cup begins at 2:00pm on the Newtown Savannah, where Island-wide teams will compete in a soccer-rama.
