Youth on a Mission aims to ‘Bridge the Gap’
One youth group is taking up the challenge to address the gap they believe exist between the young and the elderly, more so, in the evangelical church.
On October 14th, 2011 ‘youth on a mission’, a group based Loubiere, will host an event dubbed ‘bridging the gap’, which will feature what most persons refer to as ‘the old-time gospel’.
Public relations officer of the group, Mrs. Beverly Leblanc says that the event will feature a number of individual and groups who will perform the ‘old hymns’ in their own creative style.
One of the highlights of this initiative will be a panel discussion featuring a number of elderly Christian men and women, who will deliberate on the challenges that they faced as Christians decades ago.
Youth on a mission is hoping that through this panel discussion, young Christians will get a reminder of what true Christian fellowship should be.
The group is hoping to host the event in different districts on the island.
The event is free, however patrons are asked to bring a special offering to go towards the cost of the outside broadcast on voice of life radio station.
All skits and songs choreographed on that night will be different mixes of original hymns.
The event will be held at the Portsmouth Pentecostal church from 7:00pm on Friday, October 14th, 2011.
Persons wishing to participate in the program can contact Mrs. Beverly Leblanc at 614 6117 or Mrs. Ellen Paul at 276 0408.
