Youth Showcase Talent at 3rd Buy Dominica Extravaganza
Young people definitely showed they can overcome the negative stigma that over shadows their positive abilities.
This was shown as students from the Portsmouth Secondary School participated in the 3rd buy Dominica extravaganza, with a variety of creative and unique products.
Mr. Severin McKenzie, Public Relations officer of the Dominica Manufacturers Association, (DMA), said he opened the invitation for the extravaganza because he was impressed by the exhibition that the students organized on entrepreneurship.
Miss Gladice Joseph a business teacher from the PSS expressed how proud she is of her students for taking the initiative to manufacture quality products.
Miss Joseph said she is confident that several students have the potential for pursuing careers in manufacturing.
Buy Dominica is a joint effort between the Dominica Manufacturers Association and the Dominica Association of Arts and Crafts; by pursuing employment opportunities that manufacturing has to stimulate the economy.
The Portsmouth Secondary School intends to make this event an annual one.
